Cellosaurus CHO-K1 UA10 (CVCL_ZE99)

[Text version]
Cell line name CHO-K1 UA10
Synonyms UA10
Accession CVCL_ZE99
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: CHO-K1 UA10 (RRID:CVCL_ZE99)
Comments Characteristics: Doubly auxotrophic; deficient in 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide ribonucleotide formyltransferase/IMP cyclohydrolase (ATIC) and uridine monophosphate synthetase (UMPS), respectively disrupting the purine and pyrimidine de novo synthesis pathways.
Characteristics: Useful for the production of recombinant monoclonal antibodies as it rovides a rapid and efficient selection method for the serial or simultaneous transfer of genes for multiple polypeptides of choice into the cells using readily available purine- and pyrimidine-free commercial media.
Knockout cell: Method=CRISPR/Cas9; UniProtKB; G3I1V4; Atic.
Knockout cell: Method=CRISPR/Cas9; UniProtKB; G3GSP0; Umps.
Derived from site: In situ; Ovary; UBERON=UBERON_0000992.
Cell type: Epithelial cell of ovary; CL=CL_2000064.
Species of origin Cricetulus griseus (Chinese hamster) (Cricetulus barabensis griseus) (NCBI Taxonomy: 10029)
Hierarchy Parent: CVCL_0214 (CHO-K1)
Sex of cell Female
Age at sampling Adult
