Characteristics: Reporter cell line to measure HIV-1 infectivity and thus evaluate susceptibility to anti-HIV-1 drugs (PubMed=17182760).
Characteristics: Transfected with three constructs. 1) 53LTRN-lucneoR#1 which contains the HIV-1 strain HXB2 LTR driving the expression of a Luc-DsRed fusion protein. This allows HIV-1 replication to be quantitatively evaluated by using luciferase activity when the LTR is activated by Tat, and the DsRed gene allows HIV-1 infected cells to be identified by red fluorescence. 2) pRenillaPac where Renilla luciferase is under the control of a CMV promoter and is used to monitor cell numbers and viability, 3) pCCR5/CEP4 which contains CCR5 under the control of a CMV promoter (PubMed=17182760).
Virology: Infected with Moloney murine leukemia virus (MoMuLV) from MiCl1 (S+L-) (Cellosaurus=CVCL_3405) cells (from parent cell line).
Virology: Susceptible to infection by both CCR5-tropic (example JRCSF) and CXCR4-tropic HIV-1 strains (PubMed=17182760).
