Cellosaurus HEK293 HL5 (CVCL_E7I6)

[Text version]
Cell line name HEK293 HL5
Synonyms HL5; Human PRLR-Luciferase clone 5
Accession CVCL_E7I6
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: HEK293 HL5 (RRID:CVCL_E7I6)
Comments Characteristics: Used in a transcriptional bioassay for lactogens. Upon binding a lactogen to PRLR a complex is generated that activates JAK2 which in turn activates STAT5 which results in transcriptional activation of the luciferase reporter gene. Thus, the luciferase activity reflects receptor activation by the exogenous PRLR ligand (PubMed=12668884).
Characteristics: Transfected with two constructs, one containing PRLR under the control of a CMV promoter and the other a firefly luciferase reporter gene under the control of the HSV-TK promoter containing a six-repeat lactogenic hormone response element (LHRE) (PubMed=12668884).
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection; Gene=HGNC; HGNC:9446; PRLR.
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection; Gene=UniProtKB; P00552; Klebsiella pneumoniae transposon Tn5 neo.
Genetic integration: Method=Transfection; Gene=UniProtKB; P08659; Photinus pyralis firefly-type luciferase.
Transformant: NCBI_TaxID; 28285; Human adenovirus C serotype 5.
Derived from site: In situ; Fetal kidney; UBERON=UBERON_0002113.
Species of origin Homo sapiens (Human) (NCBI Taxonomy: 9606)
Hierarchy Parent: CVCL_0045 (HEK293)
