[Text version]
Cell line name HBL-100
Synonyms HBL 100; HBL100
Accession CVCL_4362
Resource Identification Initiative To cite this cell line use: HBL-100 (RRID:CVCL_4362)
Comments Problematic cell line: Misidentified. Presence of a Y chromosome in cell line that was thought to be of female origin (PubMed=16643607; PubMed=20143388). Originally thought to originate from a casein-producing breast cell line from a 27 year old Caucasian woman. In addition contains SV40 genomic sequence while the cell line was deemed to be spontaneously immortalized.
Part of: Cancer Dependency Map project (DepMap) (includes Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia - CCLE).
Part of: JWGray breast cancer cell line panel.
Registration: International Cell Line Authentication Committee, Register of Misidentified Cell Lines; ICLAC-00207.
Virology: Contains 2 copies of the SV40 genome, one complete the other incomplete tandemly integrated in the cell line genome.
Doubling time: 28 hours (Note=At 10th passage) (PubMed=6891286); 1.5 days (PubMed=9671407); ~40 hours (CLS=300178); 30.21 hours (JWGray panel).
Karyotypic information: Near triploid with the modal number of 67 chromosomes (ATCC=HTB-124).
Microsatellite instability: Stable (MSS) (PubMed=12661003).
Transformant: NCBI_TaxID; 1891767; Simian virus 40 (SV40).
Omics: Genomics; DNA methylation analysis.
Omics: Genomics; Whole exome sequencing.
