| Comments | Caution: This is said to be a spontaneously immortalized amnion-derived cell line. At the time this cell line was established other amnion-derived cell lines were thought to exist (AV3, FL, WISH), but all these cell lines were later shown to be HeLa contaminated. As there is no publication reporting the use and characterisation of VRC-4 except the original one, it is impossible to establish the real origin of this cell line.
