Comments Characteristics: Very tumorigenic. Derived from xenografts produced by the parent cell line grown in deepithelialized rat tracheas that were subcutaneously transplanted into athymic nude mice and exposed to beeswax pellets containing tobacco-specific N-nitrosamine 4-(methylnitrosamine)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK) (PubMed=1323115).
Transformant: Ad12-SV40 hybrid virus.
