Comments Characteristics: Selected using the 9-(1'-pyrene)nonanol/ultraviolet (P9OH/UV) method. P9OH acts as a photosensitizer. Normal cells which can incorporate the fluorescent fatty alcohol into lipids are killed by UV, but mutants who incorporate P9OH poorly are less susceptible to photosensitized killing.
Characteristics: Transfected with a GFP N-terminally tagged with peroxisomal PTS2 signal and C-terminally tagged with a PTS1 signal (PubMed=10771091).
