Comments Problematic cell line: Misclassified. Originally thought to be a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) but shown to be from a desmplastic melanoma (PubMed=36818284). This is based on a number of criteria such as the result of a methylome-based classifier, the expression of the SOX10 and S100B markers, a WT status for PRC2 genes, the complete inactivation of NF1 and CDKN2A and negative staining for Melan-A.
