Lung Cancer Cell Line

Description

A hyperdiploid cell line, from lung, metastatic site, pleural efussion carcinoma, held at ATCC. Karyotyped in collaboration with the Sanger Institute.

Notable Features

Hyperdiploid with 10 structural rearrangements, involving chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 19, most of the rearrangements are unbalanced, but one reciprocal translocation t(1;17)(p10;p10), loss of chromosome Y; gain of chromosomes 8, 13, 16, 20, 21. Most cells contained double minutes (DM) involving different chromosomes.
