CC Characteristics: Displays a thermo-sensitive phenotype. At a permissive temperature (33 Celsius), the cells grow at a rate of about 80% of the parental line while maintaining 80-90% phosphatidylcholine levels. At a non-permissive temperature (40 Celsius), the endogenous Pcyt1a/CCT activity decreases dramatically, blocking membrane synthesis and ultimately leading to apoptosis.
CC Sequence variation: Mutation; UniProtKB; P49584; Pcyt1a; Simple; p.Arg140His (c.419G>A); Zygosity=Unspecified (PubMed=8185307).
CC Transformant: ChEBI; CHEBI:23994; Ethyl methanesulfonate (Methylsulfonic acid ethyl ester; MSEE).
CC Derived from site: In situ; Ovary; UBERON=UBERON_0000992.
CC Cell type: Epithelial cell of ovary; CL=CL_2000064.
